Leaky Washing Machine
A twisted or snapped supply line is one of the most common issues in a water damage, especially for a washing machine where large volumes of water flow in a short amount of time. That was the case when this two story apartment flooded from the washer down into the downstairs kitchen. In order to dry the ceiling from above, crews cut out the wet ceiling and duct plastic into the small cutout to circulate airflow. This is a quick and efficient SERVPRO process to dry out tough to reach materials. Our customer couldn't believe how quickly we were able to dry out their home. We make disaster "Like it never even happened."

Water In the Crawlspace
Not all water damages are the same, water will move in the direction of least resistance like in this case. Water cascaded down from the sink pipe into the crawlspace. When crews arrived they noticed a large puddle on the vapor barrier and soaked underlayment directly below the sink line. Crews were able to dry the structure from below before mold growth started to show. Our customer was very thrilled that mold has not started to grow! We make disaster "Like it never even happened." Give us a call today if you noticed excess moisture in your crawlspace or leaky pipes coming from your sink, the issue could be more serious than you think.

Leaking Pipes May Cause Major Water Damage
Peterborough residents barely think about the amount of pressure in their home's pipes except when it seems too low in the shower or kitchen sink. Opening up the valve might solve this problem, but at the same time, it can create a real disaster.
Increasing the pressure can lead to broken pipes in your house, followed by water damage to the area. SERVPRO can send IICRC-certified technicians to your home after such a disaster and get things dry quickly. This can keep water damage from becoming a reality for you. Water damage can affect almost anything.

Document Drying Chamber
SERVPRO® Document drying chamber offers cleaning, digitizing, sterilization (through gamma irradiation), deodorizing, trimming, refile jacketing, and certified destruction services. Even on category 3 losses or items affected by microbial growth, the drying chamber can help recover those items. The drying chamber can dry almost 800 cubic feet of documents in each cycle. The standard run time for that size of a load is about 4-8 days depending on the nature of the items and the amount of moisture that is in them. The drying chamber team is available 24/7, 365 days a year to assist with customer concerns, HIPAA certifications, proper shipping, and the drying process.

Did You Know? Science of Drying
Our SERVPRO of Peterborough Professionals are trained in the art of Psychrometrics, a calculated science which reduces drying time by adjusting the locations and types of dehumidifiers as drying conditions change. Making every loss "Like it never even happened."

Basement Flood Remediation
SERVPRO of Peterborough received a call at 2am for a basement flood.
Once the excess water has been removed, the floors and walls may appear dry, but a quick inspection will reveal they are wet to the touch. Nearly all building materials, like wood, drywall, and flooring materials, are porous and therefore retain water. This retained water can cause the materials to break down, warp, or cause mould damage.
